Andrew Shade Sr., 89 years young, caring father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2023 in South Florida with family by his side. Andrew served for two years in the United States Army and retired from the Northern Indiana Public Service Company (NIPSCO) in 1995, after more than 35 years of service. After spending most of his adult life in Fort Wayne, he enjoyed the last few years living in South Florida with his daughter, Anita. Andrew leaves behind family and friends to cherish his laughter. Survivors include his children, Dora Shade, of Pembroke Pines, FL, Anita Shade, of Cooper City, FL, Sherrie Shade, of Philadelphia, PA, Andrew Shade Jr., of California, Rosalind (Kenneth) Cammack, of Fort Wayne, IN, and Corey (Jennifer) Calland, of Fort Wayne, IN; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Reverend Sam (Arthella) Shade; and sister, Georgia Mack, both of Fort Wayne, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and other siblings. A funeral service for Andrew will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 1331 Gay Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46803 with calling beginning at 11:00 a.m. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy can be left at www.mccombandsons.com for the family.
