Evil – How to Dress a Wound

This episode was so good as we got a return to Ben and learned more about his backstory. It always amazes how the show is able to pack an episode with great character development for each of the characters. It does not happen every episode but when it does we are in for a real treat.

There were many wounds that had to get bandaged this episode. From the epic fight between Sheryl and Leland which involved a lot of stabbing to Sister Andrea needing a bandage for her wounds and Ben learning that his father was cheating on his mother and using migraines as an excuse, almost everyone needed tending to this week.

First, I have to give props to Sheryl for outsmarting Leland. He got his lick in but she stabbed him good, took the juice that keeps them young, destroying the rest, stabbed him but the icing on the cake was deleting the audio files of Kristen so when baby Timothy is in his crying fits, Leland has nothing to stop him from crying.

There was a little movement with their relationship with Kristen helping her at the hospital and when she got home. Of course Sheryl did not reveal the truth to her but we did get Kristen scaring Leland on the telephone. I love when those two go at it.

Ben had an interesting journey this episode. Not only learning that his father was a cheater but he is losing time and not acting like himself. Inviting Renee to move in with him and wanting to buy scented candles. I almost thought Renee was lying until she showed him that video of him singing and dancing asking her to stay. Part of me wished she did because I am not fully convinced that she has nothing to do with this. I loved peeling back the layers of Ben and seeing him start to doubt his beliefs in science versus religion.

Speaking of religion, one of my favorite characters, Sister Andrea was back and in full demon slaying force. Kristen yielding to her daughter’s wishes and allowing her to speak with Sister Andrea was a big step forward. Also, letting Sister Andrea and David bless the house was great, we got to see where that tunnel led (and how it tied into the problem of the week with the train conductor was brilliant writing). A demon named Lou living deep in the home was scary. Lou as in Lucifer perhaps – that was not made clear. The interaction with Sister Andrea was scary and humorous at the same time.

Ending the episode showing up through the demon tracker app the home is full of lurking demons was truly terrifying and I cannot wait to see how this all ends.
