What are you up to this weekend? I’m taking a mini road trip to the Dia: Beacon museum and might stop on the way to see Jordan Casteel’s exhibit. (Her paintings are so beautiful, don’t you think?) Also, the comments on this post made me cry. Thank you so much; I’m feeling especially grateful for the CoJ community right now. Hope you have a good one, and here are a few fun links from around the web…

An amazing thing a guy said on a date.

Have you seen the trailer for How to Die Alone, starring the hilarious Natasha Rothwell?

Master photographer Irving Penn took gorgeous photos of different jobs.

A math exam but obviously some stuff has happened over the summer in the teacher’s personal life, lol.

Who else wants to climb into a bed nook? They’re so enticing.

Weekend uniform: tipped sweater and cute jeans.

Meals to cook for a friend who’s having a hard time. What would you add?

Also, this burrata eggplant looks delicious. (NYTimes gift link)

Made me laugh.

Plus, three reader comments:

Say Day on what have CoJ readers taught you: “These classics have stayed with me: 1) just add water; 2) babies be babies; 3) tell kids how much you loved watching them play, rather than analyzing their performance. I’ve been reading CoJ my whole adult life, along with so many others, and I feel very buoyed seeing all the woman in different life phases, different careers, different countries, different backgrounds reading along, too! I feel like I get glimpse into what it would be like to be a sister, best friend, niece, daughter, etc., of all these readers who are so generous with their questions and experiences. It makes the world feel friendlier.”

Says Laura on what have CoJ readers taught you: “Do it for Larry! I always, always return my shopping cart. When I see another woman Trader Joe’s with a reusable tote bag and an air of big sisterly internet connection, I always whisper under my breath, ‘For Larry,’ jussssst to see.” Adds Emily: “I would wear a ‘Do It for Larry’ hat, I swear!”

Says Varina on a low-key fall checklist: “VOTE. That’s definitely on the checklist. 1) Check your registration status here; 2) make a plan to vote here; 3) text a few friends to ask about their plans; 4) host a letter party at your house to remind folks in swing states to vote; and 5) donate – even $5 – on oath.vote (the best and most strategic way to support races you care about while ALSO not getting spammed). Sign up with your local chapters for all sorts of ways to get involved. This race is truly 50/50. Vote.”
