‘Tis the season to finally take out those bins labeled ‘Christmas decorations.’ This year just feels a bit more holly jolly with many internet spaces already dedicated to baking cookies and finding the best trending Marshall’s Christmas decor (like these adorable cocktail glasses). We are so here for the festive cheer, especially after a lengthy trip to HomeGoods stocked holiday aisles and coming home with bags full of Santa-approved goodies.
Best Holiday Decorations to Shop at HomeGoods
HomeGoods does normally carry the same items nationwide, but it’s important to note that some might be out of stock or one-offs (there were several times when I could only find one of the products I wanted). The retailer sells an abundance of holiday-related items all throughout the store —ranging from traditional wreaths to snowman-shaped pillows — so I recommend taking your time looking through the options or asking an employee if you’re looking for something specifically.
With that being said, I scoped out the best HomeGoods Christmas decorations under $25, landing on 12 items that I really loved.
1. Rachel Zoe Set of 3 Kitchen Towels, $9.99
As an avid home cook, my first go-to decor for any holiday is kitchen towels. They are easy to place in the oven, affordable, and look so cute in your kitchen. Home Goods has an entire rack dedicated to Christmas-inspired towels — this set of three gingerbread man towels were immediately added to my cart.

2. Loloi Christmas Accent Rug, $12.99
This gingerbread house door mat came home with me the first moment I laid eyes on it. It’s a creative way to decorated without having to put in much effort — and I loved how the mat relyed Christmas without the usual ‘Happy Holidays’ (don’t worry though, the store had many of those in stock too!).

3. Floral Treasure Classic Holiday Wreath, $24.99
Nothing says Christmas like a wreath. There was an entire wall of wreaths available ranging from small to big. I’m always first to think about how I’ll be storing these decorations in my apartment after the holiday is over, so I usually opt for a small to medium size. This one had a pop of color from the cranberries, but the classic green leaves that everyone loves.

4. Martha Stewart Shatterproof Ornaments, $7.99
You don’t have to just decorate the tree with ornaments. I like to hang them on fairy lights or stack them in a clear container as a table centerpiece. These Martha Stewart ornaments come in a set of 8 and are shatterproof – the chic design is perfect for those who enjoy decorating but prefer minimalist colors.

5. Wooden Winter Scene, $16.99
I was shocked that this wooden figurine display was just $17, considering how professional it looks. The trees have just a sprinkle of snow on them with a shining reindeer admiring them from the side. You can place it on your mantel for a subtle addition to your decoration collection.

6. Minimalist Christmas Tree, $12.99
Not everyone is a fan of bright colors and lights when it comes to Christmas decor. HomeGoods offered an array of trees that ranged from grays to blacks, which is more of a modern take on decor while looking sleek. I recommend buying two or three and placing them together to make it more of a scene.

7. Arctic Holiday Holiday Tree Topper, $9.99
If you’re like me and don’t have hundreds to spend on a gold, bedazzled tree topper, this Artic Holiday variety is a wonderful affordable version. The fact that it’s made of mini jingle bells makes it so unique, along with the fun swivel design at the bottom. Even if you’re decorating a mini tree — it’ll look just as cute.

8. Martha Stewart Melting Snowman Candle, $7.99
Martha Stewart did it again, because this melting snowman candle is currently sitting on my deskside table. I don’t plan on lighting it so that I can keep it for years to come. Safe to say that Home Goods’ large assortment of holiday candles was a little overwhelming, but if you sift through you can carry home some really good finds.

9. Cynthia Rowley Jingle Bell Frame, $7.99
One of the most underrated ways to decorate is through picture frames. It just makes for a more holly jolly look when you replace the usual frames with a jingle bell-inspired one like this one. You can also place a new winter or Christmas photo in it to put up for years to come.

10. Kensie Home Stocking, $12.99
You can’t have a holiday decoration roundup without including stockings. I found these realistic Santa’s in the home furniture section of the store (there were several rows of different festive designs). Considering how long-lasting stockings are, $13 is an incredible affordable price for many years of use.

11. Ridgefield Home Decorative Bows, $9.99
I love simple decorations that you don’t have to put much effort into showcasing, but are completely timeless. These luxurious red bows came in a two-pack and were hanging on a display case in a random area in the story, so you may have to do a bit of searching. You can hang them on your tree, doors, or really any piece of furniture where you think they’d look cohesive.

12. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Snowglobe, $14.99
This snowglobe is not just an impulse buy (even though it is located right before you line up at checkout). These snow globes are being sold in collaboration with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, with 50% off the proceeds going to St. Jude. Aside from that meaningful addition, the snowglobes are incredibly pretty and the perfect decor to achieve a white Christmas.
