Oppo’s upcoming Find X8 has already been confirmed to beat Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro at the bezel game, and now an intriguing new detail has been made official by an Oppo exec over on Weibo.
The Find X8 will be smaller, thinner, and lighter than the Find X7 was. It will also have a smaller camera bump. But at the same time, it will pack a larger battery than the X7’s 5,000 mAh cell.

That is, needless to say, quite a feat of engineering. Zhou Yibao, the exec in question, promises us that the phone will feel amazing in the hand.
For reference, note that the Find X7 measures 162.7 x 75.4 x 8.7 or 9 mm (depending on rear material). It weighs 202g or 206g (depending on material). So with this in mind we can probably expect the X8 to go below 200g and be around 8.5mm thin or even less than that.
The Find X8 will be announced alongside the Find X8 Pro in October. They have both long been rumored to sport the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, and borrow Apple’s Camera Control button as well as magnetic wireless charging.
