Gary Roosevelt High School was one of only three high schools in Indiana constructed exclusively for African Americans. At one point, the 1930s building was one of the largest mostly Black high schools in the Midwest. Gary Roosevelt sits empty now after years of deterioration and a devastating pipe burst in 2019.
