LOS ANGELES, CA – New Economics for Women – Women’s Business Center (NEW-WBC) is excited to invite you to the 2023 Entertainment Industry Conference called “Unleashing The Future of Women in Entertainment”. 

This in-person conference features an extensive entertainment fair along with Hollywood influencers acting as guest speakers and panelists who will inspire you to unlock your potential in the performing arts.

The event also features the opportunity for seasoned producers and filmmaker hopefuls alike to submit their short film or documentary for screening and prizes!

The event will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 11am-5pm at the NEW-WBC office located at 7500 Alabama Ave Canoga Park CA, 91303.

NEW-WBC is well known to provide strong support for under-resourced women entrepreneurs in the entertainment industry with resources, tools, capital access, and above all, connecting them to Hollywood producers, directors, actors and to so many more people to make their dreams come true.

NEW-WBC Director Ruth Garcia-Corrales says, “We’re calling out to all women and minority entrepreneurs to join us for an afternoon packed with action, stories, entertainment, and networking opportunities. Come be a part of this star-studded event and help light up the entertainment industry by shining each other’s spotlights!”

This is an informative symposium that will bring together industry experts, experienced professionals, and award-winning filmmakers and executive producers to discuss and explore entrepreneurship in the entertainment field.

General admission is $25 per ticket. 

Table sponsorship is $75 per table.

Entry for the film competition is $50 per film.

  • Moderator: Ani Vardanyan. A sought after Character Developer and Illustrator for a wide variety of genres, bringing unique characters to life by accentuating their essence and adding incomparable elements.

    • Nare Mkrtchyan (Award Winning Documentary Filmmaker)
    • Shequeta L. Smith (SHERO Comics, CEO & award winning author)
    • Klaudia Kovacs (Multi-Award-Winning Director/Producer & Crowdfunding Expert)

  • Webb brings extensive experience in business development, VC backing, representation and marketing.  Her former clients include such notable figures as Cameron James, Oliver Stone, Doug Trumbell, Tim Burton, Coen Brothers; companies such as IMAX, Pixar, SONY, DreamWorks, MGM, Disney: feature films like Shrek I, II, III, Toy Story, Lion King, and The Amazing Spider-Man.
