More than 1,000 abortion rights activists gathered at the Indiana statehouse on July 25, to protest the GOP state legislature’s current efforts to pass a bill that would ban the procedure entirely in the state, with only exceptions for rape, incest, or the life of the mother.
Indiana has become a flashpoint for the countrywide abortion rights debate, after a news story about a 10-year-old rape victim who traveled from Ohio to Indiana to receive an abortion gained national headlines earlier this month.
