Samsung held its second Unpacked event for 2023 and we got a total of seven new devices. The Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 are the stars of the show and Samsung has prepared a series of promo videos showcasing the new foldables in all their glory.
First up are the official unboxing videos for both new foldables. These short clips go over all the key features of the new Z Flip5 and Z Fold5 starting from the unboxing experience. Samsung has continued its trend of environmentally friendly boxes with recycled plastics wrapped around both devices.
There’s not much in terms of accessories with both devices – you get the phone facing down alongside a USB-C cable, a SIM pin and the quick start guide. We get a nice tour around the devices alongside a summary of their key specs and available color options.
Next up are the two “official films”. The Galaxy Z Flip5 version focuses on the new 3.4-inch Flex display which brings all new sorts of use cases like replying to messages, using widgets and taking selfies with the main camera.
The Z Fold5 official film has a more comical approach portraying the device as the ultimate entertainment and work tool and essentially replacing your gaming console, TV and work computer with its spacious 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display. The video contains several sad-looking big screens which are left behind in favor of the latest Z Fold device.
Samsung also posted an official introduction film for the Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 which you can check out below. It goes over the new features for both devices as well as their refined design and refined software features. The whole video is narrated by an AI assistant who answers multiple questions about the new devices with live examples.
Last up is a dedicated video for the Galaxy Z Flip5’s new Flex Window experience. We get to see several of the new widgets options, as well as all the ways of interacting with the covers screen without even opening the main screen.
