Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine claws are revealed by new Deadpool 3 set photos. Jackman is back as Wolverine for the first time since 2017’s Logan, and the actor is having many firsts in his return as the character. Jackman wears Wolverine’s yellow suit opposite Ryan Reynolds’ red Deadpool costume in Deadpool 3, with Jackman looking the most comic book-accurate he ever has as the mutant in his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut.
On Twitter, fan page @deadpoolupdate shared the first look at Jackman’s Wolverine claws on the Deadpool 3 set.
The Deadpool 3 set photos are the first peek at Jackman’s Wolverine in his yellow costume with the mutant’s claws, which he is using to fight Reynolds’ Deadpool in the sequence that is being filmed for the movie.
Why Wolverine And Deadpool Are Fighting In Deadpool 3?
Deadpool and Wolverine’s fight has been depicted across several set photos, with the new batch of Deadpool 3 images showing that the characters are fighting at the foot of the destroyed 20th Century Fox logo that had already been revealed to be part of the film. Deadpool can even be seen sitting against the wreck of the giant Fox logo in one of the Deadpool 3 set photos.
The reason behind Wolverine and Deadpool’s fight is unclear at this moment, with Marvel Studios keeping a tight lid on just what Deadpool 3‘s story entails, including which version of Jackman’s Wolverine will be seen in the movie. Still, the Deadpool 3 set photos tease the wildest Fox theory becoming true, which could explain why Deadpool and Wolverine are fighting in the movie.
Based on the film’s multiverse plot, the announced and rumored Fox character returns, and the presence of the 20th Century Fox logo in the middle of the fight between Deadpool and Wolverine, it appears that Marvel is doing a version of the comic book story Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe, only with the character’s multiverse shenanigans ending the Fox Marvel universe instead. Deadpool and Jackman’s Wolverine will likely be from different universes, and with the two not knowing each other, the fight between the characters begins, as shown in the Deadpool 3 set photos.
